Western Veterinary Conference awards 34 annual scholarships to third-year veterinary students at each of the accredited U.S. and Canadian veterinary schools including a scholarship to a deserving veterinary technician student. All scholarship recipients are invited to attend the Annual Conference in February in Las Vegas.

In 2012, recipients will receive a $1,000 scholarship, complimentary registration including Conference Notes, lodging, airfare and a small daily stipend to attend the 2012 Western Veterinary Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada on February 19 – 23, 2012. Each scholarship recipient is also entitled to one additional complimentary registration to a future Annual Conference to be utilized within five years following graduation from veterinary school.

The scholarship recipients are selected by a committee at each college. Selections are made based on the student’s leadership qualities and financial need.

Several complimentary events are held for students, including a social mixer, which is hosted by WVC staff the first night of arrival. Over the week, conference students are invited to a variety of receptions, including an Awards Breakfast hosted by the WVC Board of Directors.

WVC has provided about $1 million to scholarship students since the program’s inception in 2002.
