Dr. Jack Walther Leadership Award

WVC is proud to announce the Dr. Jack Walther Leadership Award, recognizing veterinary student leaders and promoting lifelong professional service.

2nd-Year Veterinary students interested in applying should continue to the form provided below to begin the application process. You will be required to provide your contact information and answer the brief series of essay questions outlined below. Students are encouraged to write a draft in Word, then transfer to the electronic form for one-time submission. Please carefully review your answers before submitting. Once the application is complete, edits and re-submissions are not permitted. One entry is allowed per student. Applications accepted May 1- September 15, 2012. Final selections will be based on the student’s current activities and long-term leadership potential and announced on October 15, 2012.

REQUIREMENTS:

Applications from 2nd-year veterinary students (entering 3rd year Fall of 2012) attending North American schools/colleges will be accepted.
Recipients will receive a $1,000 award, complimentary registration, lodging, airfare, and a daily stipend to attend the 2013 Western Veterinary Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada on February 17–21, 2013.
Students must be able to attend the WVC Annual Conference to receive the award as a 3rd-year student.
Each scholarship recipient is also entitled to one additional complimentary registration to a future Annual Conference to be utilized within five years following graduation from veterinary school.
