3. Who can attend the Western Veterinary Conference?

Veterinarians, Veterinary Technicians, Practice Managers, Administrative Staff, DVM students, Veterinary Technician students, allied veterinary health professionals. Photo ID required. DVM Students and Veterinary Technician Students require student credentials.

4. How many people usually attend the Annual Western Veterinary Conference?

Approximately 13,000 veterinary professionals attend WVC, of which nearly 6,000 are veterinarians. Approximately 90% are from the U.S. and 10% from other countries.

6. How can I register for the Annual Conference?

You can register by MAIL, FAX, OR ONLINE. Please go to 2011 Registration on this website to obtain registration form or to access online registration.

7. Do International attendee badges get mailed?

No, they must be picked up on-site at the International Counter.

8. How many CE hours are offered?

In 2011, 42 hours of CE will be available for full Conference Registration and 5-11 hours for One-Day Registration. Please note that the WVC-Autotutorial Library, exhibits, and Industry Seminars do not qualify for CE credit.

9. Are WVC CE hours AAVSB-RACE approved?

Yes. WVC is American Association of Veterinary State Boards Registry (AAVSB-RACE) Approved Provider #3-5775.

10. Can I register multiple registrants at the same time?

No. Each registrant must register separately, and each must have his/her own username and password.

11. Is lunch included in the registration?

No. However, lunch and food options are available inside the Exhibit Hall and throughout the Conference hotels and Convention Center. Complimentary box lunches are also available from select Industry Seminar sessions.

12. Are the Conference Notes (Conference proceedings) included in the registration fee?

Yes. One copy of the Conference proceedings is included with each registration through CD and online access. For more information on WVC-Encore products, please click here.

13. How do I know what my username and password are?

If you attended WVC in the past 4 years, or have created your WVC profile online, select Attendee Login, on this website. Click on Forgot Password? and enter your email address. The information will be sent to your email address on file. Otherwise, as a new attendee you will be asked to create your username and password at the time of registration.

14. Do I sign up for each session I want to attend?

WVC’s scientific lectures, including symposia and special presentations are open to all registered attendees on a first-come, first-served basis. Hands-on Laboratories, Workshops, and Lunch & Learn programs each require an additional registration and fee.

15. How do I keep track of sessions I attend so I can submit my CE to my state regulator?
1. A Sessions Attended form will be provided to you onsite for recording your sessions (see back of the Final Program). This form is for you to keep and/or send to your state board. Do not send a copy to WVC.
2. You can also visit the WVC website any time and use the Scientific Program link to build your schedule under the MySchedule feature. As you build your schedule, you can convert this information into a MyRecord document after the Conference. You can save and print this document for your file.
16. How do I receive my CE certificate?

Approximately 30 days after the Conference, you will receive an email message from WVC announcing and explaining online access for printing your certificate. Please note that you need to have your badge scanned when you check in onsite to confirm your attendance at the Conference. You do not need to have your badge scanned at each session you attend.

17. How do I reserve my hotel room and what options do I have?

WVC negotiates discounted hotel rooms in Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay, THEhotel, Four Seasons, Luxor, Excalibur, New York New York, and Residence Inn. Please visit 2011 Travel & Hotels on this website to view rates and amenities. To book, click on the hotel link provided.

18. Why should I stay at a Conference hotel?
WVC strongly encourages you to book your hotel room at one of the contracted Conference hotels for these reasons:
1. Discounted rates specifically for WVC attendees.
2. The location will be convenient for you while at the Conference.

20. Can I purchase additional Guest badge(s) for my family and friends?

As a primary registrant, you may purchase one Guest badge for your family member or friend. Additional badges beyond the one allotted badge are not available. Family members and other guests may attend the Sunday and Tuesday night entertainment events without a badge, when accompanied by a badged WVC registrant.

21. What access does a Guest badge provide?

A Guest badge allows entry to the Exhibit Hall, Guest Program, Guest Lounge, Conference entertainment (Sunday and Tuesday evenings), and scheduled shopping tour. If a guest wishes to attend scientific sessions, including Practice Management, he/she must register for the full conference. Children under the age of 18 do not require a badge at the Conference . A child may enter the Exhibit Hall and entertainment events when accompanied by a badged adult. Children under the age of 18 are not permitted in any scientific sessions, Alumni Receptions, Technician Party, Guest Program & Guest Lounge.

22. Does WVC provide childcare?

WVC does not provide childcare services due to current Clark County, Nevada restrictions. WVC does not recommend that you bring children under 18 because of the professional and medical nature of the Conference. It is recommended that you contact your hotel concierge directly should you require information about child care.

23. What extracurricular activities does WVC provide for Conference attendees?
Primary registrants and guests are welcome to attend the following extracurricular events:
1. Sunday, February 20: Sunday evening entertainment, sponsored by Hill’s Pet Nutrition (badge required) 5K Fun Run (additional fee required)

2. Monday, February 21: Alumni Receptions, Technician Party, Guest Program & Guest Lounge

3. Tuesday, February 22: Bayer Evening Concert, Shopping Tour, Guest Program & Guest Lounge.

4. Wednesday, February 23: Shopping Tour, Technician Fair, Guest Program and Guest Lounge.
