Sports injuries occur in working and sporting dogs, but also arise from everyday activities and weekend fun. Delve into veterinary sports medicine in this three-day course where you’ll learn and practice the latest techniques through lectures, demonstrations and hands-on practice to take away new diagnostic skills in this specialized field.

Learning Objectives

  1. Practice platelet-rich plasma processing and stem cell collection
  2. Learn and practice diagnostic needle scope/arthroscopy
  3. Identify soft-tissue sports-related injuries of the iliopsoas, stifle, shoulder and carpal/tarsal areas using musculoskeletal diagnostic ultrasound
  4. Find anatomical landmarks and applicable injection sites on cadaver subjects
  5. Gain new knowledge on uses and indications for hyaluronic acid

TRANSPORTATION

Public transportation in Las Vegas is limited. If you are staying somewhere other than our preferred partner, Hampton Inn & Suites Las Vegas Airport, you will need to arrange for your transportation to and from the Oquendo Center. If you are renting a car, Mandalay Bay, Luxor and several other hotels on the strip may charge for parking. Other transportation options for getting around are taxi service, Uber and Lyft.
