About This Course

  1. Explore techniques to properly image strategic teeth such as the maxillary pre-molars and molars.

  2. Learn specifics on how to identify, hold and use dental instruments as well as sharpening common dental tools.

  3. Determine the reasons clients don't say yes to dental care, and what role we play in educating them otherwise.

At the completion of this unit of instruction, students will be able to describe ultrasound principles (physics, echogenicity, artifacts, image formation) and describe basic image optimization tools (frequency, depth, focus gains).

Objectives

  1. Be able to describe CT principles (x-ray generation/detection, rotation/translation logistics, rotation/translation logistics, difference between scout/helical/axial scan, differences between cone beam/slice CT)

  2. Learn how to position a patient and set up a CT protocol, acquire CT in a variety of protocol/reconstructions and view/manipulate/visualize the study in 2D/MPR/3D

Nutrition...

Discover a variety of important skills which are necessary to educate clients on nutrition, answer client questions about pet food, and make nutritional recommendations, grain-free diets and feeding tube placement and so much more!

Objectives

  1. Learn important calculations such as: calculating a patients RER, calculating the daily caloric requirement of patients at different life stages, and calculating dry matter basis to compare a canned food to dry food. 

  2. How to place NE & NG feeding tubes, including proper suturing techniques.

  3. Understand the facts, health risks and common misconceptions of grain-free diets.

PACKING TIPS

    1. WVC scrubs are available upon your arrival if needed.
    2. Closed-toe shoes are required during labs.
    3. A light sweater for indoor areas.
    4. Plenty of sunscreen.
    5. Electronic charging device to power up.
